THE
Way of Relic
Black Strat - Part
2
...Wait a second, did you just say 'acrylic'?
I thought you had to use Nitro something instead... |
It doesn't have to be nitro because I won't be putting in cracks.
It won't make any difference. |
When it comes to a black vintage guitar, it is common knowledge that the
top coating can either be a clear coat or no coat at all. |
What common knowledge...?
Anyway, if that is the case, of course you won't spray the clear coat to save time, right?
Well not quite, I prefer to put on the nitro top coat for this. |
Ahhh..so you want your finalized version to be virtually identical to a vintage guitar.
Is this the pride and heart of being a Relic man?
Yeah, it's Katsumi's "must have" preference so to speak. I am starting to understand
that things must be done according to the spirit of a true craftsman.
Well, I just thought that the topcoat needs to be applied because when I
polish and clean the guitar, I might mess up my clothes... wasn't thinking
about the spirit of a true craftsman... um.... perhaps I might have disappointed you? |
Oh no no, not at all. |
Since I don't want to spend too much money on this, I'm going to use the pickguard,
pickups, and the bridge from the SAGA kit. I'll quickly relic them and use them.
They are cheap parts but I don't care. |
(Ah, I see.. he didn't really have a personal standard or aspiration to achieve the spirit of a truecraftsman)
Ok, the neck that came with the SAGA kit is so bad, I won't be able to use it.
So I'm going to use the Fender license neck that I found in my attic. |
Really? What's wrong with the SAGA neck? |
Oh, to answer your question about the neck... |
EVERYTHING! |
(oh oh, he's getting upset)
Well, from my point of view, all relic guitars look like JUNK...
I've put the tobacco burns on the headstock. I always wanted to do this. |
oh..., it's.... it's sooo beautiful
yea, yeah.... right...
When I found this body in the garage, there were so many dings and scratches on it,
I'd normally throw it out as trash. However, I mysteriously knew "don't throw this one out"
so I forced the issue and restored it. Call it "Divine Intervention from GOD"!?
I destroyed the spiders' home and revived this guitar to life so I hope someone
will use this guitar for those spiders.
Oh, don't worry.
Those spiders have already built their new homes.
