I got a great
deal on this squier vintage modified strat because it was a
"blemish" item. Since I'm gonna relic it, a
small blemish won't matter much at all.

|
Nice. You got a sweet deal!

|
(Blem
Squier? Cheap, he is so cheap...)
|
|
I tried
it out before removing the finish. The pickups in this
guitar are the cheap Duncan Designed ones but at least it works.
|
|
No duh!
Of course!
|
|
But I do
have one small concern.. when I tried playing some clean chords
with a decent amount of attack, it was a little muddy sounding, so
the sound separation wasn't that good. I don't think it
will be a big issue though.

And this
guitar has the thin lamination top and back like the Fender
Standard strats so it's impossible to do a burst finish
So I have to make another opaque solid color relic.

Other
than that, when I just try out this guitar quickly, I didn't
notice any issues. The neck is straight and in good shape,
the frets are ok, the nut is not the greatest but it won't raise
any concerns. The finish is very clean.

Okay,
let's start from removing the finish.
